Waveney Valley Athletic Club’s senior members competed at Ditchingham last week at the last of three races in this years Bungay 10k Summer Series.

165 runners took part in very warm and humid conditions with Richard Aukland first to finish for the club in 39th place in a time of 43:15. Steve Gibbs was 60th in 46:27 with Tim Earl just a few seconds behind in 61st in 46:33. Wayne Freeman finished 66th in 47:21, Ailsa MacDonald 70th in 48:35, Paul Harrod 75th in 49:02 and David Pimlott 151st in 1.04:44.

The Saturday 5k parkruns produced a number of personal bests for club members during July. At Gorleston on the 6th Jon Comyn recorded a new best time of 20:18 to finish 9th. Wayne Freeman was 24th in 21:51 and Joe Mayne 46th in a p.b. of 23:25. On the 13th Wayne Freeman recorded 21:36 to finish 17th. On the 27th Jon Comyn finished 15th in 20:57 and Lisa Knights was placed 25th in a p.b. 22:05.

At Fritton Lake on the 6th Warren Hytch finished 14th in 24:46 and on the 20th his time was 24:47 in finishing 20th.
