Nine members of Waveney Valley Athletic Club competed in race two of the Bungay 10k evening summer series. The dry weather was ideal for road running with hardly any breeze to hamper athletes attempts to achieve their targeted times.
120 runners completed the race with Bill Kingaby first to finish for the club in 26th place in a time of 42:59. David Mower was 52nd in 47:00, Duncan Carter 55th in 47:33 and Steve Gibbs 57th in 47:55. Peter Laurence, in his first 10k race, finished 68th in 49:24, Colin Maxwell was 49th in 49:26, Joe Mayne 71st in 49:34, new member Louise Adamson 88th in 51:38 and Stuart Smith 100th in 55:05.
Last Sunday the Humpty Dumpty 10k, organised by Great Yarmouth and District A.C. was held in challenging conditions for runners and spectators alike as torrential rain lasted throughout the race.
