Ten members of Waveney Valley Athletic Club were part of a 240 strong field at the third and final race in this years Great Yarmouth 5 mile promenade series which was held in stormy conditions with heavy rain towards the latter stages of the race.
Four members ended the series recording personal best times, Patricia Tuttle, David Goosey and new members this year Peter Lawrence and Paul Grant. WVAC results – 31 Chris Pimlott 31:26, 44 Tim Earl 32:35, 64 Bill Kingaby 34:14 ( 2nd prize M60 – 64 ), 90 David Mower 36:13, 101 Steve Gibbs 37:12, 110 Peter Lawrence 38:18 pb, 136 David Goosey 39:19 pb, 143 Paul Grant 39:45 pb, 168 Joe Mayne 41:53, 169 Patricia Tuttle 41:54 pb.

At the Halstead & Essex Marathon on May 11, Tim Earl finished in 48th place out of 535 entrants. On an undulating course he recorded 3-15.21, one of his best times over the marathon distance.
