Members of Waveney Valley Athletic Club were active recently in two of the regions 10k road races. On Sunday, in very warm, sunny and breezy conditions, 20 of the club’s athletes competed in the Humpty Dumpty event, one of the race sponsors being the nearby brewery of the same name.
The event took place at Freethorpe, near Acle and included a steep hill at about halfway as the runners went through Reedham to head back to the race HQ at Freethorpe. With the northerly breeze against them at this point, the second part of the race proved very tough.
